Salvaged Gloves and Dollheads

While many of our vendors come up with such great creative ideas , today I thought I would feature our vendor #53. The way she recycles these old gloves with missing mates and the broken doll heads is adorable. With the gloves she first handpaints the image on and then stuffs the glove and places it over either old stem glasses or old glass candle holders. She then coats the piece in a fabric stiffener to make it stand better and to protect the paint job. They make such great displays and you can even hang jewelry on them. For the doll heads she flips old plant pots over , gives them a nice paint wash, fixes the heads if they need it or if she wants to add anything to them and glues the heads onto the pot. She them calls them "Potheads" which always gives folks a nice giggle. I don't have a picture of it but this same vendor also made a great Americana display for the 4th of July holiday by taking an old banister post and drilling holes into to display a selection of flags.
This is just one sample of the many great vendors we have here a Rink and every week they alwasy surprise us with new designs!
